|The EU requested to restore the delivery of Russian gas in full
The EU invited to restore in full the delivery of Russian gas, AFR informed on the 2nd of January.
Mirek Topolaneka, Prime Minister of Check Republic, presiding the EU from the 1st of January, stated in his presentation about the necessity of “urgent regulation of the commercial dispute concerning the issue of the delivery of gas from Russia to the Ukraine, and immediate restoration of the delivery of gas in full amount to all EU countries".
According to the situation by the end of 2 January, shortages in the delivery of Russian gas via the Ukraine were reported by three EU states: in Romania the undelivered amount reached approximately 30% (three million cbm), Hungary reported of the undelivered 25% of the daily amount of gas (approximately about ten million cbm), and the delivery to the Polish Gas-Systems was cut by 6%.
It should be noted that “Gazprom” cut the delivery of gas to the Ukraine as from the 1st of January, since the Ukrainian side has not fully settled accounts for the delivery of gas in November and December 2008.
