The Head of Estonia opened the presidential season in Azerbaijan

The programme of official visits of the Heads of Foreign States in Azerbajdzan was opened this year by the Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves. He arrived in Baku on Monday, 12 January accompanied by a business delegation including entrepreneurs representing the sphere of information technologies. Subsequently, it is evident, that the key topic of the first official visit of the current Head of Estonia in Baku will be the cooperation in the sphere of information technologies.

As reported by “NG”, the source of internal political authority of Azerbajdzan, the organisation of the current visit of the Estonian President in Azerbajdzan was supported by the Chamber of Commerce “Estonia – Azerbaijan”.

It should be noted that it was scheduled in the programme of the visit of the Estonian President in Azerbajdzan to discuss regional and international issues with the President Ilham Alijev. According to the opinion of local analytics the current crisis between Moscow and Kiev in relation to gas problems will lead to the discussion of energy issues between the Heads of the two states, whereas the Baltic States, in particular, Lithuania, are very much interested in the implementation of the project “Odessa – Brody – Plock – Gdansk” with a branch-line to Lithuania, which, by the way, is a shareholder of the joint stock pipeline company “Sarmatia”, established for the implementation of the project in the delivery of oil from Azerbaijan by this particular route.
