Viktor Baranec. Poland has placed US Patriot missile battery at the border with Russia
2010 05 31

Poland has placed American Patriot missile battery at the border with Russia delivered there on Sunday, 23 May, under convoy of 150 US soldiers.
The battery was dislocated following the agreement signed by the USA and Poland as the NATO partners at the end of 2009.
Warsaw makes no secret about considering the American ABM complexes also as means of “deterring” Russia. During the coming two years American experts will train Polish military officers how to use the equipment.
It was planned in the beginning to place American missiles close to Warsaw, but then the town of Morong was chosen, which is located in some 70 km from the Russian town of Kaliningrad.
Washington considers that in the future Poland will become part of the new modified ABM system, which is going to be implemented by 2020. In response to objections of Russia, the President Barrack Obama reviewed the ABM plan, but did not withdraw Patriot missiles at the request of Poland.
