|The laying of the “Nord Stream” started in Finland
On the 28th of June the laying of the gas pipeline “Nord Stream” started in the special economic marital zone of Finland, reported “Interfax” referring to the Finnish TV broadcasting station YLE.
The total length of the first line of the gas pipeline in the Finnish waters shall reach some 330 kilometres. The largest part of the route is going to be laid during the autumn and winter of the current year in the distance of 30 km from the sea shore at the depth of 40 – 200 metres.
Nord Stream, the total length of which shall reach 1224 kilometres, will join Russia with the Western Europe, and will make it possible for the European countries to receive the Russian fuel without mediators.
The first line of the Nord Stream in the capacity of 27, 5 million cubic metres of gas is going to be opened in 2011, and the second one – in 2012.
