In the last week of February the newly appointed special OSCE representative of the Lithuanian Chairmanship in OSCE on the protracted conflicts Giedrius Cekuolis is going to pay a visit to the South Caucasus. This was reported by Trend at the Permanent Mission of Lithuania in OSCE.
During the current visit Cekuolis will visit Baku and Yerevan. The details of the visit are still being coordinated.
As reported earlier by IA REGNUM, Lithuania, that started the Chairmanship earlier this year, considers the issue of full support to the processes of addressing the “frozen” conflicts as the priority task within the framework of the Organisation on safety and cooperation in Europe.
Besides, as stated by Giedrius Cekuolis, the state could hardly provoke a revolution in addressing the protracted conflicts during the period of its presidency. “The main goal is to create a stable environment for contacts and the dialogue leading to the resolution of the protracted conflicts in a civilized and peaceful way”, - he said.
