  German Napolskij. Japan will transfer nuclear technologies to Lithuania

On 29 November Lithuania and Japan exchanged diplomatic notes, where conditions on transferring nuclear technologies to Lithuania were defined, reported to the journalists at the press-service of the Republic of Lithuania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The report noted in particular that as a result of the exchange of the notesthe Government of Lithuaniahas committed itself tousethe importednuclear technologies forthe Visaginasnuclear power plant exclusively for peaceful purposes onlyandnot disclose themto third countrieswithout the consentof the exporting country, in this case Japan.

Diplomaticnoteswere prepared in accordancewith the requirements ofthe official documentsof the InternationalAtomic Energy Agency(IAEA).

Thisnext important legal step ensures continuous negotiationswith the strategic investorand creates preconditions forsigning the concession contract on the construction of the new nuclearpower plantand other related contracts thereof.

It is planned thatthese contractswill be signedwith the strategic investor«Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy»at the junction of2011-2012. Simultaneously, the agreement of shareholders shall be signed with the energy companies ofLatvia, Estoniaand Poland.

It is planned thatwith the participation of the strategic investorand regionalpartners - theenergy companiesof Latvia, Estonia and Poland, the regional NPP in Visaginaswill be built before2020.

Ukraine has filed a lawsuit against Russia in the International Court of Justice for terrorism and racism (1)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine filed a lawsuit in the UN International Court of Justice against Russia within the framework of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, says the site of the Foreign Minister. This is done on the instructions of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, issued on 16 January.

Belarus has established a visa-free regime for citizens of 80 countries

Alexander Lukashenko on 9 January signed a decree № 8 "On the establishment of visa-free entry and exit of foreign nationals." The document establishes visa-free entry to Belarus for a period not exceeding 5 days at the entrance through the checkpoint "National Airport Minsk" for citizens of 80 countries, - reported the press service of the President of Belarus.




The European Parliament approved the recall of visas for citizens of Ukraine and Georgia
