|Belarus is looking forward to the visit of the Latvian Foreign Minister
The development of relations between Minsk and Brussels will be discussed on 10 April in Vitebsk during the meeting of foreign ministers of Belarus and Latvia, reported press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
The official statement says that during the meeting of Vladimir Makey with Edgar Rinkevich "a full range of relevant issues related to the development of Belarusian-Latvian cooperation in political, commercial - economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as the Belarus-EU interaction will be discussed”.
The foreign ministers will also revise the results of the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement effected since 1 February 2012 on the simplified travelling procedure facilitating mutual trips of cross-border residents, and also sign an agreement on the state border regime.
According to the background information of the Belarus Foreign Ministry, Latvia in 2012 ranked the 5-th among foreign trade partners of Belarus according to the turnover of goods and the 4th according to the volume of export.
In 2012 Belarus supplied to Latvia mainly petrochemicals, as well as production of metallurgy, machinery, agriculture, forestry, food processing, and imported from Latvia mainly medicines, fish, textiles, hosiery, cement, engines and motors, metal constructions.
