In the light of the Crimea situation military experts do not view a direct threat for the Baltic States from Russia, but despite this, Estonia is considering additional security measures, reports Rus.err.ee referring to the "Current Camera".
"It would be reasonable to allocate funds from the state treasury for purchasing of stocks of ammunition, especially cartridge. These processes are time consuming, and if we take action now, it will take weeks and possibly months to ensure that the ammunition was in place," - said the colonel in reserve Leo Kunnas.
Security crisis, according to the Defence Minister Urmas Reinsalu, is now covering the entire Europe, and the NATO member states have mutual consultations on the issue.
"The first outcome is already available: 6 fighters and 2 tankers are already in Lithuania, and we are interested in expanding such opportunities and are working on it," - said Reinsalu.
