Tymoshenko convenes volunteers to people’s regimentation to resist Russian aggression (1)

2014 04 17

A candidate to the post of the President, the former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko calls for the creation of the People's Regiment of volunteers for withstanding a possible Russian aggression in the Eastern part of the Ukraine. She spoke about this on the TV channel ICTV in the evening of 14 April.

"I appeal to all those who have experience in military operations, military service, the Security Service of Ukraine at other special units, in order to unite efforts and create the movement of national resistance", - she said.

Tymoshenko said that in the morning of 15 April, she intends to create the headquarters for coordinating the actions of the regimentation.

Ex-prime minister considers that currently the army and the militia are not strong enough for withstanding a possible Russian aggression on their own. "It's time to honestly tell the Ukrainians that now help of every Ukrainian is needed!” - she stressed.

Tymoshenko stated that Russia has actually declared war on Ukraine. "Everything that is happening now in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions - is war, announced by Russia against Ukraine," – she considers.

Tymoshenko is convinced that failure of strict attempt to prevent the seizure of power in Eastern regions may jeopardize the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

She supported the anti-terrorist operation involving the army in the Eastern provinces, and if needed - in the entire Ukraine, too.
