The newly elected president of Moldova Igor Dodon, known for his pro-Russian views, stated that his country is not going to refuse from the cooperation with the European Union.
This statement of Dodon was announced on Stirile TV.
Dodon said that the President has no authority to stop the action of the Association Agreement.
"The Agreement on Association with the EU will continue to be implemented, but we will do our utmost to restore economic and strategic relations with the Russian Federation", - said the President of Moldova.
He also said that according to the results of the upcoming parliamentary elections, he is ready to hold a referendum, where citizens of the country could express their opinion about which alliance they are willing to integrate to - European or Eurasian.
