On 23-29 July Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis is visiting the Check Republic, reported IA REGNUM.

On the first day of the visit Dombrovskis is meeting with the Head of the Check Government Petr Nečas. In addition, as part of business events, a lecture of the Latvian Prime Minister to the graduates of the Anglo-American Institute – on the role of fiscal discipline in ensuring stability in Europe, is also scheduled. Moreover, Dombrovskis will be awarded the international prize Vasheka and Anna Maria Polak. It should be reminded that the key officials of the Latvian state formally adhere to the version of the "success story of Latvia", related with the successful overcoming of the financial and economic crisis of the Republic. This version is fully supported by the EU leadership and the IMF–it is referred in their constant praises of the Latvian government.

According to the representative of the Russian opposition Leonid Gozman, Russia may not like the Baltic States and be an uncomfortable neighbour for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, however is inoffensive for them, because it has finally accepted the fact of their independence.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, signed in Brussels a joint plan on combating the illicit trafficking in nuclear and radioactive materials, reported in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevicius, speaking about the powers of negotiators with the Russian company "Gazprom".
